  2. 9/4 Do Now • Pg. 20 • Write a little about your progress with the outside reading requirement. What are some of the things you find challenging about this assignment? What is going well? How did you go about choosing your first book for the semester? What is your current reading routine? We are currently in week 4, which means you have about two weeks to read your 400 pages for triad 1. How close to that number do you think you’ll be in the next two weeks?

  3. 9/5 Do Now • Pg. 22 • Describe your neighborhood at night? Is it quiet, or loud? Safe or would you avoid walking around at night? What do the houses look like?

  13. 9/23 Do Now • Pg. 32 Why is it important to think about “the audience” (who reads what we write/say) when we think about how to write? Write about a time you made an “audience” mistake because you didn’t think about WHO you were texting/writing/talking to. If you can think of an experience like this, imagine one you may face in the future (i.e. talking to your boss in the same tone and vocabulary as you do with your best friends). What steps will you take in your education to learn more about this idea of “audience” when it comes to your writing? Examples include all the elements of writing (on the black poster).
