  13. FAQ’s How do I know that I receive all the e-blast correspondence sent? The PTO uses the same mailing list as the school district. If your email address is registered in Power School, you should be receiving everything we send. Why can’t we go back to paper flyers sent home with our children? When Branchburg School District went green a few years ago, the PTO decided to try to eliminate as much paper waste as possible. We also found that many of the paper flyers were getting buried in backpacks and lockers. Any paper forms that do get sent home (for example the spirit wear forms) are provided by the fundraising company. Is there a way I can make a one-time monetary donation instead of participating in fundraisers? We are looking into ways to make this an option. Do the KidStuff Coupon books have to be sent home with the children? While we currently send a sample book home with K-5th graders, we will investigate another process for this. For distribution purposes, the books will still be sent home with the student. We are currently looking into other coupon style books which offer on-line purchasing.

  14. FAQ’s Continued Can the timing of the Consignment Sale be changed so that it isn’t close to other consignment sales in the area? Starting the next school year, we will be having the Consignment Sale only one time per year in the spring. Unfortunately, the timing of the sale is based on school building availability and is planned far in advance so we don’t know when other organizations are planning their sales. Can the items purchased through the gift wrap fundraiser be mailed directly home, rather than having to be picked up? We will look into doing this but be aware that there will be a charge for direct mailing. The gift wrap and magazine sale fundraisers are stale, can we try something new? The PTO is always looking for new ways to fundraise. The gift wrap and magazine sale fundraiser is our biggest money maker so in order to stop them we would need to have a sure bet to replace the money lost. We will be adding several new fundraisers in the spring – ideas that were suggested in our survey. The difficulty in changing up fundraisers is finding individuals to spend the time to research them and/or take a leadership role in organizing and running them. Can you do the Scrip Gift Card Sale before the winter holiday season? Yes, we will! The sale that we just had for the gift cards was just the beginning. We intend to have a sale of gift cards a couple of times a year.
