  2. Strategic Map • “A vision for the coming decade to help guide us as we build on our tradition of innovation to deepen and multiply the kinds of critical connections that make the liberal arts so transformative.” • “An institutional agenda … that will evolve as we work and learn from it.”

  3. – I – Advance an innovative and distinctive liberal arts curriculum that will empower students to engage their world by focusing on courses, programs, and teaching that build on the University’s commitment to reflective thinking, scholarship and learning.

  4. Progress • Implemented new curriculum • Increased experiential learning opportunities –NYC Semester, Sustainability Semester, internships • Created Business in the Liberal Arts major • Launched Commission on Diversity • Increased faculty grant training and support

  5. Progress • Built on commitment to sustainability – new semester program, homesteader-in-residence, Nature Up North, STARS, internships • FYP London, new study abroad programs • Digital humanities, coordinator • Classroom renovations • Technology upgrades

  6. New Paths • Diversity Commission recommendations • Experiential learning – continuing and exploring new opportunities: • Semester programs • Internships • Research • Study abroad

  7. New Paths • Improving and adding teaching, research space • Enhancing teaching and learning technology • Creating more named professorships • Growing fellowships • Adding scholarships • New initiatives???

  8. Progress and New Paths • We need to maintain and build on these accomplishments and the academic experience we care about … and that requires faculty, facilities and fundraising.
