History • 1948, Foundation of Hungarian University of Economic Sciences; • 1953, The University receives its name after Karl Marx; • Late ’60’s, Progressive steps toward market-oriented education; • 1970’s, ’80’s, Radical reforms, structural reorganizations; • 1991, Karl Marx University of Economic Sciences title is changed to Budapest University of Economic Sciences;

History • 1996, The BUES accepted as CEMS member; • 2000, The Corvinus University is created by the integration of the University and the College of Public Administration; • 2001, The Corvinus University is accepted as PIM member; • 2003, The former University of Horticulture joins Corvinus University;
