  1. Renaissance Artwork: The Creation of Adam- Micheal Angelo Piece: The Creation of the World and Other Business- Arthur Miller Performed by: Dylan Brown and Ryan Smith How the piece relates: This piece relates to the art as their extract is between God and Adam, the people portrayed in the painting.

  2. Renaissance Artwork: The Last Supper- Leonardo Di Vinci Piece: The Last Supper- John Cleese/Ade Edmonson Performed by: Karolis Vaitkevičius and Will Rice How the piece relates: This piece is obvious in the way it relates to the painting, as they both have the same title. The piece is about the creation of the painting, and has a fantastic comedic twist to it. John Cleese and Ade Edmonson- The Last Supper

  3. Renaissance Artwork: Visions of Hell- Hieronymus Bosch Piece: In Camera- Jean-Paul Satre Performed by: Thalia Weavers, Liam Swain and Jamie Musora How the piece relates: The way the piece and the painting relates is the different depictions of peoples own versions of hell, which depending on the person, could be complete opposites. In Camera- Full

  4. Romanticism Artwork: The Incantation- Francisco Goya Piece: Devised Acro-Dance Performed by: Sophia Barrett and Crystal Knott How the piece relates: They have the ability o make their number incredibly creepy, as they’re both very flexible and talented in terms of the acrobatic and dance side as well. If they choreograph the number, and involve something that represents the sacrificing of a child then it will relate really well to the painting, as if you look carefully that’s what they are doing. This painting is very sinister, so I think the audience wont be expecting something like that under the genre ‘romanticism’, so it’d be nice to see and hear their reactions to the dance as well.

  5. Romanticism Artwork: Portrait of Nell Gwynn- Peter Lely Piece: Playhouse Creatures- April de Angelis Performed by: Abigale Cameron-Laker, Lauren Hobbs, Milly Cochrane, Ines Gomez and Jess Bellamy How the piece relates: This extract is about Nell Gwynn getting in to the acting industry, so as one of the characters this piece is the perfect match for the painting.

  6. Romanticism Artwork: Pity- William Blake Piece: Lady Macbeth Monologue- William Shakespeare Performed by: Jess Bellamy How the piece relates: In the context of the monologue you can see that rather than the spirit watching over the woman; the spirit is in fact the human conscience of the woman. The woman could be seen as lady Macbeth and this painting could easily demonstrate through imagery the line “Unsex me here”.

  7. Pre-Raphaelite Artwork: The Lady of Shallot- John William Waterhouse Piece: The Lady of Shallot- Alfred, Lord Tennyson Performed by: Eren Kucukkaramuklu How the piece relates: This one is pretty self explanatory, they both have the same title, so it was pretty perfect as to how the pieces were pieced together.

  8. Impressionism Artwork: Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte- Georges Surat Piece: Colour and Light/Sunday- Sunday in the Park With George (Sondheim) Performed by: Faye Smith and Ryan Adams/Year 1 Musical Theatre How the piece relates: The show Sunday in the Park with George is a show with music by Sondheim, and the show is based around the creation of the painting and what they thought inspired him to piece together all of the people and the scenery that he incorporated into this painting.

  9. Impressionism Artwork: Poole Harbour- Phillip Wilson Sterr Piece: Martha's Harbour- All About Eve Performed by: Mia Hoy How the piece relates: This song is all about love, and it uses a lot of metaphors about how their love relates in some way to the movement and characteristics of the water in the harbour.

  10. Impressionism Artwork: Dancers Practicing at the Ballet Barre- Edgar Degas Piece: Devised Ballet Piece Performed by: Lauren Dunning, Bronwyn Murton and Jess Weston How the piece relates: They are going to be using the ballet barre for this piece, and have said they will be wearing the same type of costumes, so they couldn’t get any closer to the painting if they tried.

  11. Post-Impressionism Artwork: Starry Night- Vincent Van Gogh Piece: Vincent- Don Mclean Performed by: Singer- Tom Stevens, Dancer- Chloe Sheehan How the piece relates: Explained in ‘Ideas Research- Task 2’

  12. Post-Impressionism Artwork: Water Lilies- Claude Monet Piece: Dance Inspired by Isadora Duncan Performed by: Katie Pickering, Becca Lomas and Beth Kirkwood How the piece relates: Isadora Duncan developed a way of dancing in a naturalistic sense, and this will be a great way to portray this painting as water lilies are really elegant and graceful.

  13. Cubism Artwork: Boy With Horse- Pablo Picasso Piece: Equus- Peter Shaffer Performed by: Sophie Clare and Brayden Weibel-Seckley How the piece relates: Equus is about the relationship between a boy and his parents, and establishing why he has such an attachment to horses, and why he then ended up injuring them so badly. So this painting is perfect, as Alan isn’t an adult he’s a 17 year old boy, who has an obsessive love for horses.

  14. Cubism Artwork: Cubist Still Life- Georges Braque Piece: Hamlet (Gravediggers Scene) Performed by: Alfie Dye and Justin Glenister How the piece relates: Hamlet is normally associated with a skull, and the fact that it’s the gravediggers means you’d associate it even more with this ‘symbol’.

  15. Cubism Artwork: Weeping Woman- Pablo Picasso Piece: Who’s Crazy/My Psychopharmacologist and I- Next to Normal Performed by: Ryan Adams- Dan Emily Scott- Diana Chris Gray- Dr Fine Lauren Hobbs- Natalie Dylan Brown- Gabe Faye Smith and Abigale Cameron-Laker as extra Doctors How the piece relates: Explained in task 5

  16. Symbolism Artwork: Lonely Woman- Edvard Munch Piece: I Wish I Could Forget You- Passion Performed by: Lauren Hobbs How the piece relates: The song is all about a woman singing about how she’s lonely and missing someone, longing for the ability to live without the memory of him. The way this woman is looking out of the window is a look of longing, relating the emotions of the song.

  17. Symbolism Artwork: Separation- Edvard Munch Piece: A Dolls House- Henrik Ibsen Performed by: Karolis Vaitkevičius and Mia Hoy How the piece relates: The end of A Dolls House is about Nora leaving Torvald, for a life of her own with no attachments. So the fact that this woman is leaving this gentleman, but it’s almost as though she’s leaving a part of her behind, which in the case of this play I’d say would be her children. At the end Torvald also has the realisation that he really does love her, and she’s not just there for him to control, which makes it hurt him a lot more then as an audience you’d expect.

  18. Supremacism Artwork: Supremacist Composition: White on White- Kazimir Malevich Piece: Art- Yazmina Reza, Christopher Hampton Performed by: Eren Kucukkaramuklu, Justin Glenister and Ryan Smith How the piece relates: The show Art is all about a man who buys a blank canvas, which is supposedly an expensive piece of art work. So as the show is based around a painting which is predominantly white, they relate to each other a lot.

  19. Surrealism Artwork: Golconda- Rene Magritte Piece: It’s Raining Men- The Weather Girls Performed by: Jamie Musora and Milly Cochrane How the piece relates: The lyrics of the song are all about Men falling from the sky, in a sense, which is what the painting involves.

  20. Surrealism Artwork: Alice in Wonderland- Salvador Dali Piece: Alice- Laura Wade Performed by: Thalia Weavers, Liam Swain and Will Rice How the piece relates: This extract is about the Mad Hatter, and how the clocks are broken, hence why it’s always ‘time for tea’.

  21. Surrealism Artwork: Narcissus- Salvador Dali Piece: Hamlet Queen Gertrude Monologue- William Shakespeare Performed by: Jess Bellamy How the piece relates: The relation between painting and monologue is about how obsessions can lead to dreadful endings.

  22. Art Deco Artwork: Young Girl in Green Dress- Tamara de Lampicka Piece: Ladies Who Lunch- Company Performed by: Lauren Dunning How the piece relates: This song is sung by a lonely cynical lady, who sings about what’s wrong with everything around her.

  23. Art Deco Artwork: Nighthawkes- Edward Hopper Piece: My Time of Day/I’ve Never Been In Love Before Performed by: Chloe Sheehan and Chris Gray How the piece relates: Because of where Sarah and Sky go on a date, the bar is very apt, as well as how they go on a date in the evening.

  24. Art Deco Artwork: The Aperitif- Gerda Wegener Piece: Burlesque Fan Dance Performed by: Katie Pickering and Becca Lomas How the piece relates: The piece involves giant fans, and the style of dance itself is very sexualised dance, and this painting relatable in this element at the time that it was created.

  25. Pop Art Artwork: Crying Girl- Roy Liechtenstein Piece: I Wish I May- Witches of Eastwick Performed by: Emily Scott- Lexa Faye Smith- Jane Abigale Cameron-Laker- Sukie How the piece relates: Explained in task 5.

  26. Pop Art Artwork: Bang Bang- Andy Warhol Piece: Bang Bang- Nancy Sinatra Performed by: Brayden Weibel-Seckly Dancers- Jess Weston, Beth Kirkwood and Crystal Knott How the piece relates: Because the title of the piece and the song are the same, along with the lyrics which talk about being shot down.

  27. Contemporary Artwork: Everyone I’ve Ever Loved- Tracey Emin Piece: Girls Like That- Evan Placey Performed by: Sophie Clare, Ines Gomez and Sabrina Tiberi How the piece relates: Girls like that is all about the progression of girls growing up, and how sometimes the way you choose to live your life others don’t approve of, which isn’t your fault, but they make you a target because of it. A lot of the show has to do with Scarlet and how because she’s a little bit more ‘out there’ then the other girls she grew up with they bully her about it. So Scarlets life is in a lot of ways represented in this sculpture, she gets called names, and she becomes involved with boys earlier than the other girls.

  28. Contemporary Artwork: Stare- Jenny Saville Piece: Kid- Chris O’Connell Performed by: Alfie Dye How the piece relates:

  29. Contemporary Artwork: Gold Triple Pop- Gavin Turk Piece: Kurt and Sid- Roy Smiles Performed by: Ryan Adams How the piece relates: The monologue is read as Sid Vicious, from his point of view, about his life and the world. Depicted in this painting is 3 prints of Sid in the style of the Elvis Presley print by Warhol.

  30. Contemporary Artwork: Neon Love Slogan Signs- Tracey Emin Piece: Dance inspired by James Cousins Within her Eyes dance Performed by: Dylan Brown and Bronwyn Murton How the piece relates: The dance will represent the love between a couple, and the series of signs are all positive, and encouraging slogans about love, either for a significant other, or just someone close to your heart.
