  6. Model T Began selling in 1908 4 cyl engine with 20Hp and a top speed of 40-45mph 13-21mpg/gas or ethanol Headlights were introduced in 1915 By 1915, 9 out 10 cars were a Ford

  7. However… He had demands!! Workers could not drink alcohol Workers could not smoke…on the job Workers could not join a union

  8. Ways the automobile changed the landscape of America • 1. New communities sprang up along country roads (suburbs). • 2. More people began traveling to work by car • 3. Trucks were more commonly used (less dependant on railroads) • 4. Increase in demand for related products

Assignment: • The year is 1927 • Create a “skit”, song, rap, or one pg. paragraph trying to sell The Model T to the American public. • Use your textbook and outline for information and be sure to mention: • 1. Cost 2. Durability 3. Maintenance • 4. Any other facts (color, driven on most surfaces, etc.)
