  1. Sending A Message

  2. Cinderella was notified of the ball by messenger. • However, this alerted her sisters to the ball as well. • Imagine if Cinderella could have received her letter in another way. Maybe then, her sister wouldn’t have known about the ball, and she wouldn’t have had to spend so much time getting them ready.

  3. Can you create a method of sending a message across the room? • Today, you will create a message that you would like to be sent across the room without walking it over. • If you have time, you may start planning how you will do this by sketching out your idea and taking notes on a piece of paper.

  4. The Rule of the Challenge • Use your imagination and design a delivery system that gets messages from one side of the room to the other. If you want to try this with friends, split into teams and design ways to deliver messages to each other. The catch is, you can't throw your message to the other team, and you can't just get up and walk over with it. • Use materials provided to you to build your message delivery system. Then, write a message and try it out! If the other team can receive and read your message, the design was successful.

  5. To Conclude… • Compare designs. • What advantages does each design have? • Can you improve on your design, or make a new one?
