  2. What is DynEd Software? • DynEd software allows users to practice their skills in • Listening • Speaking • Reading and • Writing • Provided in a multimedia format, users can practice speaking and reinforce their grammar skills.

  3. How do I access DynEd? 1. Click on the ESL Resources folder 1. 2. Click on the All Skills folder. 3. Click on the DynEd icon. 3. 2.

  4. First Time Users • Before you can use the program, you must: • Choose the class your are working in. • Create an account for yourself by clicking on the Add button then, follow the screen prompts. • Type in your information and then click OK. 1 3 2

  5. Continuing DynEd Users 1. Once you have added yourself as a student, select your name and click on start. 2. Type in your password and press OK.

  6. Choosing An Activity • To begin working in DynEd • Choose the Activity you would like to work in or • Choose the Lecture series you want to hear then press the ok button.

  7. Placement Tests in DynEd The Placement Test contains two parts that diagnose then suggest an appropriate starting point in the DynEd software. 1. 2. 3. • YOU WILL ANSWER DIFFERENT TYPES OF QUESTIONS • Listening Comprehension – hear a word then choose the correct choice • Listening, Grammar, & Word Fill-In – hear a question then choose the word or phrase to fill in the blank. • Grammar Fill-In – hear or read a sentence then choose the correct choice. • Dialog Completion – hear a prompt then complete the dialog.

  8. Beginning your course Before beginning your course, select the language you would like to receive help in. Select a language then press the ok button Once you have selected a language, you will be able to hear instructions and phrases in English and in the language you chose. The Hear Translation button will look similar to this:

  9. Using the Control Bar The Control Bar, located at the bottom of the DynEd screen, allows you to listen, record, move through, and display information. Become familiar with the controls by reading the diagram below. Hear translation in your language

Recording Your Voice • To record your own voice: • Make sure your headset is in the “Record Mode” • Click the Record button • Speak clearly into the microphone • Click on the Record button again to stop recording your voice • Click on the Play button to hear your recording. • Click on the Repeat button to hear your recording again.   11. Using the Glossary of Terms • To see the meaning of a word: • Click on Options and then Glossary. • Type or choose the word. 2. 1. See the translation in the language you chose!

  12. Reviewing Your Progress You may review your progress at any time by following these steps: 1. Click on Options 2. Choose Study Records A record of your activities will appear on the screen.
