AV over Twisted Pair What is A/V over twisted pair? • Transmission and distribution of audio, video and control over wire associated with telephone and data networks. • Special interfacing equipment is required. • Appealing for applications because of cost and implementation advantages. • Delivers performance comparable to systems using RGB coaxial or HDMI cabling.

Passive Transmitters and Receivers (Baluns) Best suited for audio, composite and S-video Compromises performance at high resolutions Active Transmitters and Receivers Accommodate HDTV and HD Computer video as well as audio and control Include equalization for signal loss Can be stand alone or integrated in to other equipment

All transmitters, receivers, and distribution equipment must be provided by the same manufacturer. Standard data cabling and termination apply.
