  2. Diego Velazquez…. • Was born in Seville, Spain in 1599. • Studied the art of painting, literature & philosophy w/ Francisco Pacheco. • Married his teachers’ daughter- Juana Pacheco! • Died in the year of 1660.

  3. Interesting Facts • Painted 3 portraits of king Phillip IV at 25, known as “King’s Painter.” • He was a Spanish Painter. • He taught Diego Melgar as a student for 6 years! • When he died he recognized as a “Great Artist” • Diego’s most famous painting was “ Las Meninas”
