Quality Infrastructure for Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Efficiency (R3E) in LAC - QIREEELAC

  • Organization of American States as political partner

  • regional approach focused on Accreditation, Metrology and Standards, represented by regional organizations COPANT, IAAC and SIM

  • Objective: develop and strengthen QI services for R3E

  • German Funds for 2011-2015: 2 Mio €

  • CEPAL, OLADE support on political level

  • Is part of the German Development agenda to support R3E in Latin America and the Caribbean

  • International Renewable Energy Agency IRENA recognizes QI as key success factor for their work –> increasing cooperation

  • Organización Latinoamericano de Energía OLADE increases attention to QI (International Energy Forum, element of their capacity building)

Quality Infrastructure for Climate Change and Biodiversity in Latin America and the Caribbean

  • Organization of American States as political partner

  • regional approach focused on Accreditation, Metrology and Standards, represented by regional organizations COPANT, IAAC and SIM

  • Objective: develop and strengthen QI services for climate change and biodiversity

  • German Funds for 2013-2017: 2 Mio €

  • Fund structure, 22 proposals were received and clustered in 7 major areas of activities

  • Is part of the German Development agenda to support the implementation of policies related to biodiversity and climate change
