  1. WinningWCSSAA

  2. Beating Eastwood Going into the Eastwood game we already knew we were a good team. With almost two weeks of practicing everyday after school we knew we had high expectations for this season. But after we won 46-0 we realized that we were more than a good team. We were a great team.

  3. The first challenge Our game against grand river was our first real challenge. Going into that game we knew it would be a fight to win. They were a big and strong team. But no matter how big a team was we always hit harder. It was just the kind of ego we had that no matter how big the opponent is we can always put them down. And we did that beating them 30-3 to earn our second win of the season.

  4. A preview Little did we know at the time that our next game against Jacob Hespler was a preview of the championship game. But what we did know is that they were going to be our toughest challenge. When the game finally began we didn’t start very good. Going 3 and out on our first two possesion’s we started to get a little worried but then our defense game up big with a interception returned for a TD by Salytchev. And then on our next possession Salytchev ran 40 yards for one more and it was smooth sailing from there wit us winning 27-8.

  5. Putting Rez down PHS has always had a major rivalry with Resurrection so this game was not taken lightly. And once the game got underway we dominated it start to finish. On our first possession we punted it and Salytchev recovered it and returned it for a touchdown. So from there on the game was history with us destroying them 46-13.

  6. 5 wins 0 loses If we won our game against Elmira we pretty much had a guaranteed spot in the playoffs so as soon as that game started we hit harder ran faster and thought quicker than we did in any game we played before. By the time the buzzer went we won 36-7.

  7. Highlander’s to lowlander’s Our game against SJAM was the highest scoring game of any team in Jr football this year. In total there was 10 touchdowns that game. 9 of them belonged to us with us high stepping our way to a 64-7 victory to improve to 6-0.

  8. Saints Vs Panthers As much as we cared about beating every team beating Bennies really mattered to us. After barely beating them last year we had a chip on our shoulder that needed to be fixed. They were a tough team, even tougher than last year but when they hit hard we made sure to come back with a even harder hit. And this strategy worked with us bullying our way to a 49-21 win.

  9. The Playoffs When the playoffs rolled around there was two things on our mind. 1: who will we face and 2: its really cold. The answer to the first question was Saint Mary’s. When we heard this we laughed. They were the 4th place team in B division so we knew they would be a easy team and we were right beating them 57-0 .

  10. Two to go Everyone was talking about how much we beat these guys the last time we faced them. But the fact is we didn’t care about those number’s the only number we cared about was two. Two wins to go. Two wins the our first junior WCSSAA title. And we would do anything to get those wins. And with a 43-7 win we were off two the championship.

  11. The warm up The championship game started at 2:00 pm. Warm up began at 1:25. But our day began at 10:00 am showing up at school to get ready. And a normal loud team that is always joking around was suddenly struck quiet with the nervousness running around the team. We all knew that in just 4 hours our toughest challenge began.

  12. A bad start To be honest the first half of them game was our worst half all season. We had a big entrance. We had Captain Preston there. We had over 600 of our friends and family there .But what we didn’t have was our game. Sure we scored first but after a couple big plays Jacob Hespler had the lead with the score at 14-7.

  13. Halftime During halftime the players circled up in the end zone with our heads down. We all knew we were in trouble. Mr. Skovsgard walked in and simply said “we are better than this. Better than them. Now go out there and prove it”.

  14. The comeback In order to comeback we needed somebody to spark the team. Everybody was expecting it to be Salytchev the returning junior football MVP. But it actually came from our RB Danyle Sipes. After a couple big runs including an amazing touchdown that saw Sipes run coast to coast and threw the entire defense we had that spark.

  15. The 4th quarter When the buzzer went to signal the 4th quarter one thought went through everybody’s mind: this is it. When we went out there we put everything on the line. We ran every play we had and we scratched and clawed our way back into the game with another touchdown run from Sipes and a 2 point conversion to take the lead.

  16. Hawks last stand With just under two minutes left the hawks had the ball and they were throwing for the end zone launching pass after pass down field. But a strong defense held them, led by Jake Metcalfe sprinting from the left side of the field to the right side to tackle the QB for a big 4th down stop. Once they got the ball back the hawks got desperate throwing very risky balls. And with two seconds left it was a hail mary for them. Throwing it downfield the QB hoped someone would catch it. But our defense held and as the ball fell to the ground the celebration began

  17. CHAMPIONS We finally did it. We finally accomplished what we set out to do. We won the championship and went undefeated in the process. The first junior football from Preston to do both of those feats. And we look forward to next year to do the same thing in senior.
