  2. Purpose of the briefing today • Welcome • Outline of industry briefings • The 2012 Funding Agreement process • the Commonwealth terms and conditions, Commonwealth Funding Agreement and Commonwealth Program Manual • Online service provider portal

Key milestones • Letter of introduction (November 2011 to early 2012) • Industry briefings (November 2011 to early 2012 - SA will be in March 2012) • Letter of intent (From December 2011) • Discussions with service providers (from Feb 2012) • Letter of offer (From March 2012) • Signed contracts (From April 2012)

Funding arrangements for 1 July 2012 • Service providers may need: • A funding agreement with the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) for services for older people; and/or • A funding agreement with state/territory government for services for younger people • You may only need one funding agreement

  5. Overview of the Commonwealth funding agreement • To receive funding for HACC services to older people you will need: • An Aged Care Funding Deed of Agreement • Schedule/s for the HACC program

Key features of the Commonwealth Program Schedule • Activities service providers will deliver • How much funding service providers receive • Each schedule forms a separate contract • One schedule for all HACC aged care output services • Funding provided on a HACC region basis • Separate schedule/s for non output services

  7. The Commonwealth Program Manual • Outlines the policy of the program: • aims, target group and service types • Provides guidance for service providers on: • reporting, insurances, record keeping, training • Does not re-invent the wheel • Largely reflects current guidelines

  8. New DoHA Portal for service providers • A central place to store information • The portal address • www.ebiz.agedcare.gov.au • HACC Service Provider Helpdesk • 1800 057 616 • HACC.Reform@health.gov.au • Paper-based alternative for those who need it

  9. What the DoHA portal can do • The DoHA portal allows you to manage your organisation’s profile online and aims to: • Improve access to information for service providers • Streamline processes • Enable regular communication • View correspondence from DoHA • View resources including FAQs

  10. Growth funding • Commonwealth committed to grow the sector • Announced as part of the budget process • To meet evolving community needs • Determined from planning process

  11. Planning for the HACC Aged Care Program • Consider the broader aged care sector • Consider the disability sector • Continue to work collaboratively with states and territories • Advice and consultation • More information on the portal
