  6. Goal Build a strong sense of community by encouraging staff, students and parents to take an active part in school life.

  7. Research • Presents opportunities for participation in individual and team activities • Creates sense of belonging • Provides opportunities for individual and collective responsibility • Generates positive attitude towards competition • Encourages students to take an active part in school life • Imparts a sense of fun.

  8. Structure • Gives a vertical structure to the school allowing students to meet, mix, and cooperate with older or younger students outside their assigned grade level • Allows students to meet staff they would not otherwise meet in their grade level classrooms

  9. Organization • Four Houses • House names and colors to be chosen by members of the house • Students and staff randomly placed in houses • Centered on academics, behavior, sports events, and other special activities • 1st through 4th place points awarded on a weekly basis • Points accumulate throughout the school year • Points tracked by House Masters and Administrative team • Quarterly prizes and privileges • Culmination event “Sports Day”
