  4. Joint GT Math and GT Science Projects • Students may be involved in cross curricular assignments. • Examples of past projects include: • Current Events project • Election Project • Olympics • Systems Project • Rube Goldberg Machine

  5. How do I support my child? • Power School • School Town • Agenda/Planner • Science Binder • Science Journal • Talk with your child about science • Science is all around you and children this age are curious and want to know.

  8. Big Ideas • Where are we going this year? • Further develop basic skills in order to be successful in Algebra. • Develop and apply problem solving strategies. • Students will know how to manage their time. • Students will be able to tie mathematics back to real-life situations.

  9. Homework and Grading • The purpose of homework is for practice • Expect multiple times per week • Please contact teacher if homework is taking more than 30 minutes • Grades are weighted 50% Minor and 50% Major • Minor grades consist of Daily Work • Major grades are Unit Tests and Projects

  10. Day in the Life • Warm-ups with problem solving strategies • We engage their minds • Students explore ideas and explain their understanding • We extend on their learning • Students prove their learning
