  17. The Hebrew word for father is אָב–AborAbba- Aramaic When Ab is put together with el- אל – Ab-i-el - God is my Father Eliab- read El-i-ab, means “My God is father” (1 Sam 8:2). Abiel –read Ab-i-el means “God is my Father” (1 Sam 9:1). Joab –read J-o-ab means “Yahweh is Father” (2 Sam 8:16).- Abijah – read Ab-i-jah which means “Yahweh is my Father” (2 Chron 29:1).

  18. Isaiah 63:15 “Look down from heaven and see, from your holy and beautiful habitation. Where are your zeal and your might? The stirring of your inner parts and your compassion are held back from me.For you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, O Lord, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name”.

  19. God- the Father who carries his children, in whom we can trust (Deut 1:30-31) God- the Father who disciplines his children, in whom we recognise His true love (Deut 8:2-5) God- the Father who pities his children, to whom we are grateful (Psalm 103:8-14). God- the Father who adopts us in whom we have redemption, forgiveness of sins and eternal security (Psalm 68:4-6).

  20. The Lord your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as he did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place” (Deut 1:30-31).

  21. “There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son ... You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself”

  22. The message of the Bible’s reference to God as the carrying Father is to urge us to trust Him in the future, since he had not failed His people in the past.
