  2. Bellringer • In your NOTEBOOKS, answer the following question. Be sure to put the date first. • Which of the following is an example of imagery? • a.   3. “This is How We Live” • 1. Follow along as I read, underlining all the figurative language you find as we go. • Then in your notebooks: • 1. Give five examples of figurative language in the text. • 2. Write one sentence using a simile about how you view technology. • 3. Write one sentence using personification about how you view technology. • 4. Write one sentence using allusion about how you view technology. • 5. Write one sentence using a hyperbole about how you view technology.

  4. Allusion • Video • In your NOTEBOOKS, answer the following questions about the video: • 1. What story does the title of the movie, “The Pig Who Cried Wolf”, allude to? • 2. Based on what you know about the story the title is alluding to, what do you think will happen in the movie? • 3. What fairytales are being alluded to? • 4. What nursery rhymes are being alluded to? • 5. What famous Alfred Hitchcock film is being alluded to? Why would they choose this movie? • 6. What famous chef is being alluded to? Why? • 7. Why would the author choose to use allusions rather than just give you all the new information/characters?

  5. Project • Once you have completed the questions for the video, you have the remainder of the class period to work on your figurative language portfolio project. The project is due by the beginning of the hour next class period. WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED LATE AND NO LATE PASSES ALLOWED.
