  11. Area coverage & cost effectiveness • 32 % increase in area coverage since inception (77% of Kharif area and 94 % of Rabi Pulses Area) • Cost per hectare of project is less than Rs. 10/ha • Cost of project per Quintal of Production is less than Rs.1/Qtl.

  12. Project Impact • 2013-14 • Farmer participation for SMS increased by 2.39 times • Total no. of farmers covered 84.64 Lakh

Project impact • Increased awareness about pest surveillance and management among farmers and field functionaries • Real time, location specific advisories helped to avoid indiscriminate use of pesticides • Pest Population maintained below ETL • Bio-intensive pest management helped to reduce cost of cultivation • No outbreak of any major pests on crops under project since inception of the project • No assistance was required to be paid to farmers towards losses due to pest problems
