  2. What is Día de los Muertos? • Día de los Muertos is a holiday celebrated in many countries to honor the dead. Día de los Muertos translates to “Day of the Dead” in English. A common misconception about Día de los Muertos is this is a holiday celebrated in order to honor, rejoice, and celebrated the dead. • When is Día de los Muertos celebrated? • Día de los Muertos is celebrated in November 1st (AllSaintsDay) and November 2nd (AllSoulsDay) • Why is Día de los Muertos celebrated? • Día de los Muertos is celebrated topayrespect and celebrated thosewhohavepassedaway. • Where is Día de los Muertos celebrated? • Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala, and other areas in Central and South America. Día de los Muertos is also celebrated in areas of the United States, such as California and Texas.

  7. Flowers/Decorations During los Dias de los Muertos the yellow marigold symbolizes the short duration of life. Other flowers such as: white amaryllis, wild orchids, baby's breath and ruby coxcombs, are used to show recognition for the spirits celebrated. Candles play a vital role because they resemble the presence of spirits
