  3. Homework 20% Quizzes/Open-ended Questions 35% Tests/Projects/ Compositions 45% Homework All students receive 100% for turning in complete work on time. 1st M.P. –5pts. Each day late 2nd M.P. –10 pts. Each day late 3rd M.P. –15 pts. Each day late 4th M.P. –20 pts. Each day late Grading Policy

The Writing Process • Writing samples taken throughout the year • All writing scored according to NJ State Registered Holistic Scoring Rubrics • Students reflect on pieces and learn through self-evaluation, journals and peer editing • Writing is not accepted without a completely revised rough draft which reflects the writing process • Writing program includes: Persuasive, Narrative, Speculative, Descriptive, Revising/Editing, Open-ended Responses
