Manufacturing Foundations I-BEST Combines the best of engineering, electronics, robotics and manufacturing principles Ideal for students interested in the creation, design and production of new environmentally friendly products Curriculum developed with industry Student earns a micro-certificate Offered both Summer 2011 & Winter 2012

  5. Manufacturing I-BEST Project Team • Skagit Valley College • Workforce Development • Professional Technical Programs • Basic Skills Program • Private industry • Center of Excellence for Marine Manufacturing & Technology

  6. Core Components • Introduction to Manufacturing: 3 credit hours • Industrial Safety & CPR: 3 credit hours • Material Science in Manufacturing: 2 credit hours • Precision Measurement and Tools: 3 credit hours • Print Reading in Manufacturing: 3 credit hours

  7. Trade Specialty Areas To earn a Manufacturing Foundations certificate, students must complete the Manufacturing Core (14 credits), plus two additional “trade specialty” certificate options. Trade specialty areas include: • Composites (additional 18 credits) • Automated Systems (additional 14 credits) • Technical Design (additional 14 credits) • Welding Fundamentals (additional 18 credits)
