  2. All About Harriet Tubman’s Life Growing Up Did you know what life was like when Harriet Tubman was growing up? Harriet was born in 1820 in Maryland. She was born in a hut with a dirt floor. Her birth name was Araminta Ross. Tubman was one of eleven children. Harriet was a slave and so was her family, she started working when she was about 6 years old . They were owned by Edward Brodas. Also in her early years she had to take care of a baby and in the night she had to stay awake to make sure the baby didn’t cry but if Harriet fell asleep she would be whipped. When Harriet was about 15 she was hit by a weight because a slave was running away and the master threw a weight at him but Harriet was in the way so instead it hit Harriet. Overall, life was hard when Harriet was growing up .

  3. Goals and Accomplishments Tun Tun Ta Tun! Do you know the many accomplishments Harriet Tubman accomplished? In 1844 Harriet got married to John Tubman who wasn’t a slave. Then in 1849 she escaped slavery and joined the underground railroad. She helped over 300 people escape slavery in the 1850s. We remember Harriet Tubman because she helped many slaves become free by using the underground railroad which was a system of houses owned by people who thought slavery was wrong and wanted to help free slaves. Lastly, we remember her for her bravery, her beliefs, and for helping many slaves become free. Overall, Harriet Tubman had a lot of accomplishments in her hard and risky life.

  4. Interesting Fact About Harriet Tubman Oh my gosh! Did you know these many great facts about Harriet Tubman? First of all, Harriet’s real name was Araminta Ross but it turned into Harriet Tubman because she got married to John Tubman and took his last name and then took her mother’s first name Harriet. She also moved to New York after the Civil War. Also she first escaped from slavery with her two brothers but they where too scared and they turned back so she went alone. Tubman also worked for the Union army as a cook, nurse, and spy. Harriet was also sixth of eleven children. Overall, there are many great facts about Harriet Tubman.
