  8. Green Night Out – Lorax Movie and Garden Tours Students watchedThe Lorax Movie and did flashlight Nighttime garden tours at Pinecrest Gardens!

  9. Holiday Harvest…a time to Share No Idling Zone Campaign Students educated parents around the school perimeter about effects of idling Students gifted school garden vegetables and herbs to teachers and families

  10. Endangered Plants in Butterfly Garden New Rain Barrels in Hydroponics

  11. Clean Up Green Up Days Teachers, Students and Families are invited to come out and get dirty! These events are a great way to work together as we care for our environment.

  12. NEW!!The Green Machine Solar Project Portable Solar Energy station created to utilize as demonstration in school / community.

  13. Smarty Dog Beautification More Trees Please! Native plant were planted in front of the school, thanks girls! Over 20 native palms were donated and planted near the Science Wing and thanks to our zone mechanic Bill we didn’t hit any pipes!

  15. Education in the Garden Gardens are not just for vegetables! We do Art, Reading, Languages, Science and more!

GREEN COMMITMENT • I am expected to check the school web page regularly and stop by every Friday morning to room 813 to pick up a Green Team update, possibly be part of recycling that day, and gardening the following week. • I UNDERSTAND I MUST WEAR MY CLUB SHIRT TO RECYCLE OR GARDEN. • I am expected to recycle a minimum of 2 x a month. • I am expected to garden a minimum of 2x a month. • I am expected to participate in a minimum of 1 Clean Up Green Up Event.

GREEN COMMITMENT • I understand that I will be a role model amongst my community, teachers, family and peers in spreading environmental awareness and care. • I will participate in the Fairchild challenge in a minimum of two activities. • I am expected to obtain a minimum of 30 Green Planet Service hours this school year. • I understand that these activities should not interfere with my academic program. • I will demonstrate excellence in modeling appropriate behavior during all Green Team associated events. • Activities may include but are not limited to; collecting recycled items, school clean up, gardening, science oriented community and school events.
