  6. Open Forum Discussion • Load balancing across the divisions • Graduation rates across the college and among peer institutions and the relationship of graduate rates to organizational structure • Why change something when it’s working? • How much will be saved by reducing the number of divisions? • Extra support required for at-risk students: Developmental Studies, counseling, • Will positions be eliminated and who makes the decisions?

  7. Additional Considerations • Program alignment • College budget • Individual thinking

  8. Current State • No single model considered to date supports all goals equally well • Student success in core (DEV, ENG, MAT) remains a focus • Public expectation growing for more and better prepared grads in science, technology, engineering, math and medicine (STEM) • Need to reduce college operating costs • Need for coherence between reorganization and program realignment

  9. Questions to Answer on Index Cards • What organizational structure do you think would best serve student learning and the needs of the community? • As this process moves forward 2a. What is most important to you? 2b. What would you like to see happen? 2c. What do you like to see not happen? • Are there particular disciplines, if aligned together, that could help us achieve the goals of reorganization?
