  2. LFL • An early Start. • We have almost finished spring drilling • Beans have been drilled at 230 kg/ha Fuego hopefully for Human consumption. • Barley has been drilled at 170 kg/ha Tipple on Levertons • Riseholme Barley will be drilled with Cha-Cha on contract to Carlsberg. This Friday.

  3. LFL • We have lifted the sugar beet from Jacks field. • We delivered 230 tonnes to the factory on Friday • Bring the total to 998 for the field • A yield of 79 t/ha • The 57 acre yield was 74 t/ha in November • Total yield of 2687 tonnes, 76 t/ha

  4. LFL • Rape has had 1st fertiliser application • Chafer N25 plus S • The Rate is 300 litres/ha which gives 80 kgN/ha and 45 kgS/ha • Another 80-90 kgN/ha will be applied in about 3 weeks. • N max is set at 300 kgN/ha with adjustments • I expect to use in the region of 250 kgN/ha in total.

  5. LFL • Weed Control • Rape is big, I hope not to have to do much. • Wheat, Atlantis where and when? • Decisions to be made over the coming few weeks, to apply in March. • But crop is much bigger in most places, shielding!!

  6. LFL • Wheat growth • Some crops are very forward, a balance has to be struck, between soil moisture/rain, crop growth and Nitrogen. • Should we go early or wait ????
