QAST 08: new goals • Introduction of Multilinguality • English, Spanish, French • Study of the effect of the ASR degradation • How many WER is useful for QA on speech transcripts? • Introductionof new answer/question types • noun phrases as possible answers (not only strong NEs) • definitional questions • Evaluation of subtasks • Question classification, passage retrieval and answer extraction • Justification of answers

  4. QAST 08: Corpora • Used for QAST 2007 New in QAST 2008 • Different versions with different levels of WER • Lattices for most of the corpora in one WER level

Towards QAST 08 • Oral spontaneous questions The problem of defining a methodology to get them ( Use Cases … Jussi Karlgren, Stockholm) • Introduction of new languages Ex: European Parliament Sessions • Introduction of crosslinguality Ex: Manual translations of European Parliament Sessions and questions to different languages
