Families in the North. North was much more wealthier But they weren’t as angry as the Confederates (South) North wanted to win just as bad though!. Northern Families. The North had a lot of factories.

  2. North was much more wealthier • But they weren’t as angry as the Confederates (South) • North wanted to win just as bad though! Northern Families

  3. The North had a lot of factories. • They also had access to raw materials-> raw materials are items such as steel, iron, oil and sea water. • They were very good at transforming this raw steel, iron and oil to products that they can use. The North Advantages

  4. Example of the North’s production of Materials

  5. Women-> Would act as nurses and would bandage the injured soldiers. • Also the women would raise money to help the hospitals. To clean up the conditions. • Women would make care packages for the soldiers. (Filled with food, ammunition, things from home) • Also Women would disguise as men and fight in the war! Northern Families

A union soldier would make only 13$ a month. • Union Soldiers were sign up for years at a time. • The money sometimes would never arrive at all! • Women in the North would work at soap factories, wash clothes or work at anything they were good at. • Women would bake biscuits and give them to the soldiers • When the war ended, many women who had jobs, wanted to keep them. But these roles were just temporary Northern Families
