  4. Tuesday Warm-Up This is Charleston, South Carolina after the Civil War. Write five adjectives to describe this picture.

  5. Tuesday, September 24 • Warm-Up/Housekeeping/Attendance • Review Roles for Reciprocal Teaching and read pages 100-101 orally • Assign Roles/Clarify Task Chart • Learning Teams read and discuss All Summer in a Day pages 102-110 using round-robin reading and roles to guide discussion

  6. Wednesday Warm-Up!List 5 nouns from the following paragraph: Much of the Southern United States was destroyed during the Civil war. Farms and plantations were burned down and their crops destroyed. Also, many people had Confederate money which was now worthless and the local governments were in disarray. The South needed to be rebuilt.

  8. Thursday Warm-Up!List 5 verbs from the following paragraph: The rebuilding of the South after the Civil War is called the Reconstruction. The Reconstruction lasted from 1865 to 1877. The purpose of the Reconstruction was to help the South become a part of the Union again. Federal troops occupied much of the South during the Reconstruction to insure that laws were followed and that another uprising did not occur.
