Franklin Chang Diaz, he was born in San José in 1950 he was a astronaut. He was on the shuttle Discovery and Endeavour.

Francisco Amighetti, was a professional artist who taut himself how to paint. He was inspired by Mexican, American, and European artists. His paintings expressed his social problems.

Tres Leches Cake. Obviously it has a lot of milk and is extremely rich. It is covered with a frosting like Coolwhip.

Gallo Pinto is pretty much rice and beans and is eaten at lunch and dinner.

Arroz con Leche is like rice pudding with cinnamon on top. It is very thick and rich. It is a common desert in Costa Rica.

St. Joseph’s Day, patron saint of San Jose and San Jose province. Is a day were they remember and celebrate the life of St. Joseph.

Independence Day, Costa Rica and the other Central American Countries gain independence.
