Infrastructure Organization Communication Restoration Strengthen the Infrastructure Transmission - Hardening • Replace Single Pole Un-guyed Wood Structures • 2007 – 339 • 2008 – 294 • Replace Ceramic Post Insulators • 2007 – 773 • 2008 – 445 • Expand Hardening Strategy – Upgrade All Wood Structures to Current Standards • Upgrade 800+ Wood Structures in 2008

  5. Infrastructure Organization Communication Restoration Strengthen the Infrastructure Distribution – Pole Inspections • FPL Owns Over 1.1 Million Poles • Completed Over 140,000 in 2007; Same for 2008 • Working Throughout Entire FPL System • Working with Joint Pole Owners

Infrastructure Organization Communication Restoration Strengthen the Infrastructure Transmission - Inspections • 64,000 Structures System-Wide • Inspected Over 13,500 Structures in 2007 • Before June 1, 2008, Inspect All Critical 500kV Lines & Facilities Serving Distribution CIF Projects • Complete at Least 1/6th of System in 2008
