  3. Project Goals • Digitize 2-3 years of an annual, GURT • Test Library’s capability to archive published content • Test Press’s capability to market its retrospective content • Develop a business model for past and future e-content, sustained via the Library CNI Presentation 5 December 2006

Description • Library digitized recent but low-use back issues of GURT--GU Round Table in Language and Linguistics • Press offered free access to back issues to test use and market potential • Library created pilot for sustainable archive and business model for future CNI Presentation 5 December 2006

Project Significance for GU Press • GU Press’s first digital publication • Measures usage and need for carefully-selected digital backfiles • Concern not to undermine print sales of current issues • Tests various possibilities for print, e- and print, or e-only future models CNI Presentation 5 December 2006
