  2. Directions • Cut your paper into the shape of an oval or a circle. • Then cut a spiral shape into your oval/circle starting at an outside edge. • Be sure and cut the spiral wide enough to be able to write your poem on it.

  3. Writing Your Poem • Write a poem about the weather during a tornado (ie. lightning, thunder, wind, the tornado, etc.). • Use any form of poetry that you would like (haiku, cinquain, free form, diamonte, etc.). • Write your rough draft on scrap paper. • Write your final copy on the spiral “tornado” starting at the center of the spiral and working your way out. Include your title, poem, name, and date (season + year). • Scan your spiral (on my printer) to “my pictures”. Then set your “tornado” as your background.
