When multiplying fractions, fly across the top and then across the bottoms… Multiply the numerators Then multiply the denominators
Example #2: You can make this problem easier by cross cancelling.
Example #3: When multiplying mixed numbers, change these to improper fractions. Then cross cancel, if possible.
Example #4: When dividing, you need to multiply by the reciprocal.
Example #6: A cabinet maker needs ¾ of a running yard of a pine wood for the door of one of his cabinet. He will be making 8 cabinets. How much wood will he need altogether? The cabinet maker will need 6 running yards of pine wood.
