  2. We will learn in this class: how to talk about things we like or do not like. How to talk about activities we like to do or not. some new vocabulary.

  3. INTRODUCTIONS

  4. Step 1 I like ice cream. Do you like ice cream? Yes, I do! No, I don´t!

  5. Step 1 +

  6. Step 1 I love chocolate! I like cake. I don’t mind pizza. I don’t like hamburgers. I can’t stand chillies.

  7. VOCABULARY

  9. What about these things?

  10. Listen to Ianthe+:You will hear Ianthe talk about Winnipeg.Tell me one thing you like about Winnipeg!Example: I like the Forks!

  11. Listen to Ianthe+:What does she like about Winnipeg? She talks about 4 different things she likes in Winnipeg.

  12. Listen to Ianthe+ She likes… the weather the culture the people the golf courses in Winnipeg.

  13. Game: Draw something you really love! We have to guess what it is!

  14. Step 2 Talking about activities you like: Here are some examples:

  19. I can’t stand cleaning the house.

  26. Practice the dialog: Steve: Hello, Paula. Do you feel like watching a film tonight? Paula: Oh, no thanks, I don't really feel like watching a film tonight. How about going out instead? Steve: OK. Do you feel like going to the theatre? Paula: Oh, no. I hate it. Do you like eating at the new Chinese restaurant? Steve: I don't mind. The Chinese cuisine is alright. Paula: Well, I really love it! Let's go.

  28. Extension activity : discussing business activities Match the expressions to the pictures and then ask and answer questions about the activities. Do you like…….. 1 working overtime 2 selling things 3 making phone calls 4 greeting foreigners 5 typing reports 6 repairing things 7 talking to the boss

  31. Step 3+ Here is another way to talk about likes and dislikes: Listen to Ianthe! Ianthe talks about things she likes to do in her job: Tell me three things she likes to do! Are there things she does not like to do?

  32. Step 3+ Here is another way to talk about likes and dislikes: What does Ianthe, your efacilitator, likes to do? She likes to talk with people. She likes to talk with learners and she likes to see what they have done with EO. She likes to read journal entries. She likes to work with learners in virtual classes. Are there things she does not like to do?
