Procese cognitive superioare Procesele cognitive senzoriale ne ofera informatii despre aspectele concrete, intuitive, accesibile direct simturilor, prin observatie si prelucrare “pe loc”, in timp real, aici si acum = definim insusirile aparente ale lumii inconjuratoare; Procesele cognitive superioare ne ofera posibilitatea de a depasi experienta senzoriala si de a stabili legaturi intre cunostintele acumulate si astfel sa intelegem esenta lucrurilor si a fenomenelor. Fenomene psihice precum gandirea, limbajul, imaginatia, memoria sunt cuprinse in termenul de intelect si ne ofera acces la cunoasterea logica, rationala a lumii. (ex: pana la zborurile in cosmos care au permis perceperea Pamantului, oamenii nu ar fi stiut ca Pamantul e rotund; si totusi prin ratiune, s-a ajuns la aceasta concluzie cu mult timp inainte).
