What have you found out… • Colossus – The world’s first computer • Mainframes – Large powerful computers used by organisations • Desktop – General purpose computer used by individuals • Laptop – Portable, same as desktop except it has a battery • Netbook – Small version of a laptop, lightweight, cheaper, although has less functionality • PDA – A mobile device that functions as a personal information manager, often has the ability to connect to the Internet • Smartphone – A smartphone is a mobile phone that includes advanced functionality beyond making phone calls and sending text messages
