En estudios microscópicos anteriores se ha informado que las distancias entre la CA y foramen es de 0,5 mm. Sin embargo, en este estudio, las distancias medidas entre "0.5" y APEX fueron de solo 0,26 mm (Root ZX) y 0,29 mm i-Root) lo cual confirma que los localizadores electrónicos no determinan exactamente .5mm antes del foramen.
