  1. Guidelines for Installation or Changing Wheel Spacers These are the guidelines that must be followed for the installation for changing the custom wheel spacers for your vehicle. Use the appropriate spacer The wheel spacers that are being installed should be the right one for your car. Check with the manufacturer regarding the model of the car which can use the spacer. Spacers which are not fitting properly should not be used. Wheel nuts to be loosened first The car must be parked on a plain surface that is hard in nature. The nuts which hold the wheels with the hub need to be loosened a bit at first but not completely removed. It should be done before raising the vehicle with a jack.

  2. Use a jack for lifting the tire A jack needs to be inserted under the vehicle for raising the vehicle. It has to be put at a proper point where it can withstand the load. Using the jack, a tire is lifted entirely from the ground and the weight of the vehicle is borne by the jack stand. Precaution must be taken as to not to work underneath the vehicle while it is lifted with a jack, as there are chances of falling off and causing serious injury or even death. Remove the wheels The nut of the lugs of the tire that has been raised has to be removed. The wheel has to be taken out after sliding from the hub. The studs of the lug need to be cleaned with the help of a degreaser and a rag. The entire surface of the hub needs to be cleaned. If it is too dirty and rusted, a wired brush usage will help in cleaning it appropriately. Fix the spacers securely An engineering adhesive such as Loctite should be used for securing your custom wheel spacers during fixation. Loctite must be placed on the wheel studs. The fixing of the spacers need to be done firmly onto the wheel studs and it should be attached securely with the hub. The nuts need to be tightened properly. A proper torque wrench must be used for the fixation. The nuts should not be made too tight or too loose. Attach the wheels and secure firmly The wheel needs to be slid onto the studs that are attached to the wheel spacers. The wheel needs to get securely attached with the spacers. After this, the main lug nuts of the wheel need to be

  3. tightened onto the wheel to secure them firmly. The bolts are tightened and the wheels and the spacers re properly fitted onto the vehicle. After this, the jack has to be removed after lowering the jack stand. All the above steps need to be repeated for all the other wheels. After all the above processes are over for all the wheels, all the lug nuts need to be tightened so that they do not come off by any means. These nuts needs to be checked occasionally as there are chances of breakages at times.
