  1. Southern Baptists connect and share SBC Share

  2. Register and create user profiles Integrate with existing namb.net Facilitated and moderated by NAMB staff Login authentication Branded by NAMB Resource sharing (videos, text, photos, etc) Accessible from any device – mobile, desktop, etc General Requirements for SBC Share

  3. Ability to have ‘super’ users contributing their documents and resources , ie: Rick Warren is an example of a ‘super’ user ‘Super’ users will be fully trusted as moderators and be allowed to load resources without moderation Consumers will be allowed to pull resources from the ‘super’ users Consumers may ‘follow’ super users& comment on items, but may not necessarily be able to load resources unless permitted Consumer/Contributor

  4. Audience: Missionaries Pastors & Church leaders NAMB staff Partners Church Planters Goal: Ability to share and build a community of Southern Baptists across geographical boundaries and diverse cultures. Assumption is to build a social network made up of Southern Baptist Pastors, church leaders, church planters, NAMB staff, partners and missionaries. Social networking for business use is the next big trend for web-marketing tools as it gives businesses the ability to have two way interactions with their customer base. “Push/Pull marketing”

  5. Facebook Ektron NING.COM Sharepoint Cloud file servers: Box.net, Sugarsync, Mozi, GoogleDOCs Platforms for SBC Share:

  6. NAMB.NET is built on Ektron 8.02 content management software (CMS). This platform has many features that can accommodate SBCshare. Currently, NAMB is using the core CMS license. In order to take advantage of the other features that ektron has to offer, it would require an additional license to access business social or eIntranet functions. List cost is $20,000.00, can be discounted to $8,000.00 (plus maintenance) if we agree to be a ‘case-study’ for future potential ektron customers • Requires architecture development to build more infrastructure. • Less flexibility but more customizable for specific requirements – need for outside vendor to make development changes. Small changes or requests could be time consuming and expensive. • eIntranet: information distribution, knowledge management & social business portal – integrates existing business applications • Overall, more expensive and complicated to implement a sharing service • Please see: community.nasdaq.com, spottedcanary.com, dockwalk.com – all social sites based on ektron platform ektron

  7. Offsite management platform for social networking. • Predetermined features allow simple modifications and can be added or removed at will – no coding required for basic customizations. • Predetermined features include, but not limited to: Video embeds, branded players, Design studio, domain mapping, member statistics, feature controls, mobile app, twitter, facebook & flikr integration • Customized API access for advanced customization • Ability to access social site directly from namb.net – a community button would be needed to direct the user to the social site url – all defined by NAMB. • User interface is familiar to most as it is similar to facebook. Each user can customize their member page. Landing page for community is customized and organized based on requirements • $600.00 per year for pro contract which will allow unlimited users. Cost for professional development of site starts at $600.00. • Ning creators can build site based on specifications. See go.ning.com/doitforme. There are other creators that can architect & build the site. • www.Tomscampusclubs.com, www.tennisopolis.com, www.minglecity.com, www.keepachildalive.org, community tab will bring you to community.kcacommunity.org tab to get to the social site NING.COM

  8. Public – anyone can find the page Limited control on moderating content & membership Limited page layout and appearance. Unable to ‘brand’ the social community: Must go to Facebook.com and be a member to get to the namb community More pushing information to ‘friends’ then a push/pull mutual communication between members. Free, but with advertisement displaying Some negative press Facebook business pages

  9. License required to build out a social community Same features common to social networking Requires vendor to architect the interface based on requirements. Best for Intranet – internal document storage, community calendar, all features of sharepoint. Not very graphically driven Interface is not intuitive Sharepoint

  10. Box.net, sugarsync, mozi, googledocs * All these services are per unit and will backup files. Allows all types of files to be saved and shared with other members. Not a social community Navigation is cumbersome Non-brandable Cloud file servers

  11. Ning.com is the overall best solution with lowest cost. • Ning is a powerful platform and offers many features that is outside of the scope of this project. Features such as blogging, forums, and groups can be on the landing pages which can be included or not. What features would you like to have included? We will investigate the basic navigation and layout later. • Consumer/Contributor management – Would have to create groups or setup roles to limit types of content. This is somewhat more tricky in that ‘social’ networking is meant for sharing – placing too many restrictions can affect the community synergy. • Member moderator: Can define & name roles then assign to members. New Memberships can be approved • Content moderation: approvals for any and all content Recommendation

  12. Branding & Visual Design Freedom Unique member profiles – customized advanced member profile questions Moderation & Privacy – members, photos, videos, etc Invite & Share – Share content across the internet, cross post between twitter & facebook Latest activity: activity feed of everything happening RSS Feeds – pull in one or more rss feeds from a blog, website or news source Photos & Videos – allows members to upload & share and download Chat – online chat Groups – Give the ability to organize by geography, committees, special interest. Possibly setup regional groups Discussion Forum – Limit forum topic creation to administrator or open it to all membmers. Create categories, photos and attachments Blogs for every member Events – limit even creation to admin or everyone and track rsvps NING Apps – customizable experience NING Product description

  13. Members Ability to view the My Network tab, but can only see and access the Members icon Approve new members of your Ning Network Suspend members from your Ning Network Reinstate suspended members to your Ning Network Delete members Feature members Resend invitations Cancel invitations

  14. www.broadwayspace.com All these are clickable for more information and download/share • Content • Moderation • Activity Feed Message • Controls • File Manager • Archive

  15. Videos Approve videos before they appear on your Ning Network Feature videos Add and edit tags Remove comments Remove videos

  16. NAMISSIONBOARD.NING.COM • Tools • Search Bots • Flickr Integration • Facebook Integration • Twitter Integration • Custom Code • Google Webmaster • Sitemap • Domain Mapping • Test Network • Ning Extensions • Mobile App • Ning API • Settings • Network Details • Terms of Service • Email • Privacy • Appearance • Features Layout • Tabs & Pages • Paid Access Locked • Language Editor • Features • Ning Labs

  17. Vendor selection: • Experienced social site creators, cost is $150.00/hour for consultation • AMDesigndesigned the new namb.net layout, but no experience in social network sites • NING has creators that can setup the site, go.ning.com/doitforme NAMB Staff input of layout, design and features Get the community base and have members join - What’s next…
