Concern for the Individual

The individual survey items were combined into composite scales, which provide for a global perspective of the survey results. For comparison to our campus means, Noel-Levitz provides the mean of all responses nationally within our comparison group of four-year private schools. The national means are based on 276,006 responses from 378 four-year private schools that recently participated in the SSI. National results are available only in the form of individual item and scale means. These scales provide a good overview of Embry-Riddle’s strength and areas in need of improvement.

Concern for the Individual assesses the institution’s commitment to treating each student as an individual. Those groups that deal with the student on personal level (e.g., faculty, advisors, counselors, residence hall staff) are included in this assessment.

Slide #2 shows the average satisfaction and importance for the items included in the scale for both ERAU campuses and for all students from private four-year schools nationally. This slide is followed by several slides for each item that makes up the scale: a comparison of national and campus means over time, a comparison of the ‘percent satisfied’ for each campus over time, and where appropriate, one graph per campus comparing the data across degree programs.
