  2. Who we are and why you should care. • My name is Joe Massey and when asked to describe myself I guess this fits best: • ”I am a Printer by trade… • A Salesman by necessity… • & an Entrepreneur at heart” • My business, ATD Marketing, is dedicated to bringing local businesses into the 21st century via local/mobile marketing, the web & the more traditional marketing methods that still make sense.

  3. Today’s business owners are faced with an enormous problem Why? • The marketplace is undergoing a radical shift towards electronic & mobile commerce even if you are a brick and mortar business • Search results are dominated by large corporations and major chains • Lack of knowledge to develop a web campaign • Belief they can’t compete on an economical basis • Inability to make the transition from traditional advertising mediums • The Internet is moving towards Local Search & Mobile Marketing and this requires a new strategy

  4. Before the Internet: Staying connected meant advertising with: • Phone Directories • Newspaper • TV • Direct Mail • Telemarketing • Print Ads • Word of Mouth

  7. Just Having a website isn’t enough Search optimization companies are far too expensive for most local businesses as are many of the Internet marketing methods that have proven so effective! How do people find it? How do you drive trafficto a website? Are you satisfied with your current web presence?

  8. Local Search = A New Opportunity • 71% of all American adults use the Internet. • 91% of all Internet users use a search engine to find information. • Over 50% of all purchases are preceded by an Internet search • 30 percent of all search queries contain a city, state or zip code. • There are 2.6 billion local searches a month • So, what does this have to do with you? • It means you don’t have to have a website! (Although having one helps)

  9. Geo-targeted campaign placement on major search engines Yahoo and Bing also have local places and while not as big as Google you ignore them at your own risk! Local is the New Internet Mobile is the New Vehicle!

  10. Why Mobile? There are 5 billion plus cell phone user vs. only 1.8 billion Internet users (almost 3x in market size.) Of these users, 51 Million use smart phones. There is a fundamental shift in how people are communicating. Text open up rates are 95%

  11. Not to mention… • 73% of new mobile phone buyers report that text messaging is the most important feature on their phone • The typical mobile phone user now sends more text messages than mobile phone calls • Gen Y and Z consider e-mail passe’. • In fact, some universities have stopped distributing e-mail accounts. • You can buy traffic for .02 a click!

  18. It’s Simple! • Our Process • 1) REVIEW CARDS GIVEN TO CLIENTS • - Print Review cards to give to your clients so that they can submit honest reviews on your product, service or performance. These stamped postcards are mailed directly to the Local Search Dominator headquarters for publication. • 2) REVIEW CARDS PUBLISHED ON WEB • - Review cards are scanned and also entered electronically on the web. These reviews are distributed through a variety of review sites (such as Google Local) so other consumers can find you when they are looking for a service provider. • 3) REVIEW CARDS MAXIMIZE YOUR VISIBILITY • Reviews published on on-line review sites maximize your company's visibility, credibility and SEO results. The more reviews you have, the better your results.  • 4) Window sticker with QR Code • -Directs people to your Google Local Page, web site or other informational location.

  19. When times are Bad… • When times are bad what is the first thing a small business will cut out? • Is it purchasing products for resale? • Is it shut down the lights, heating & cooling systems? • Is it lay off its staff? NO! The first thing a small business cuts when times get bad is exactly the thing it should Increase…Its Marketing!

  20. In Today’s Economy One Has to… Re-examine what methods are being used to maintain the business and increase its profitability. The marketplace of the 20th Century is not the marketplace of the 21st Century and all businesses must come to the realization that things have and are changing. The computer, the smartphone and high gas prices have all conspired to cause a fundamental shift in how our economy works. So now, when times get tough and even when they aren’t each business must realize the changes that are taking place and move forward towards implementing them or risk the chance of being left behind and wondering what happened!? As they say, when it comes to the future you either watch it happen, make it happen or wonder what happened. Which category do you want to fit into?

  21. A Comment on the Economy • When times are bad for the economy, it can be a great time to start a business. In fact, 16 of the 30 companies that make up the Dow industrial average were started during a recession or depression. These include Procter & Gamble, Disney, Alcoa, McDonald's, General Electric and Johnson & Johnson • These economic times are an opportunity. Companies that make it will end up with a larger market share than when they started. • How does one take advantage of this opportunity? By being known—how does one get known? Marketing and promotion • Without promotion something terrible happens...nothing PT Barnum • If you are not marketing your business you are letting it flap in the wind and leaving it to the vagaries of chance
