  3. Curriculum *Daily English and Maths sessions. *Daily Phonics *Other things to help- Morning Activities (Thinking book, Board Maths, Grammar tasks) *Topic sessions in the afternoon. Autumn: ‘Changes within Living Memory’ Spring: ‘Famous People’ Summer: ‘Oceans and Seas’

History • Understand historical concepts such as timelines and chronology. • Compare and contrast life today to the livers of our grandparents. • Similarities and differences between ways of life in different periods. • How transport has changed over time. Music -Listen to, evaluate and review music across a range of historical periods. Use voices expressively by singing songs Play a range of instruments keeping a steady rhythm. Computing -Organising, sorting and finding information. -MS Word -MS Publisher -2CreateAStory Science Forces -Forces that make things move -Direction of forces -Going on a ‘forces hunt’ at the local park. -Forces that bend and change shape -Gravity -Propulsion/aerodynamics D.T & Art -Portraits of ourselves and our family members -Experimenting with art materials - Explore collage techniques to create an abstract collage - Creating our own transport model and selecting the best materials.   5. Homework The Learning Logs will be sent home on a Friday Please return these the following Thursday. Use the learning log to communicate with the teacher as we are no longer using the reading diaries. Spellings and times tables are recorded and sent home inside their learning logs on a Friday afternoon to be tested the following Friday.

  6. Home/School Library Monday: Y2H/ Y2M Please return your child’s book bag every week, if possible to swap their reading book. Feel free to share any comments about your child’s reading in the English/Topic Learning Logs.

  7. Swimming Thursday Afternoons: Y2H/ Y2M Earrings to be taken out please. We would ask any parent who may be available to help at those times to come and support us – without your help we may not be able to swim.

  8. Computing & PE Y2M– Tuesday am Y2H – Thursday am Y2M– Monday am Friday am Y2H – Wednesday pm Friday am Earrings to be taken out please.
