  2. Vocabulary Number Line: A line with numbers that are all equally placed in their correct position.

  3. Vocabulary Whole number: is one that has no fractions, decimals or negatives . Example ( 1, 2, 3, 4…) Mixed number: has a whole number plus a fraction. Example 6 1/2 Bar graph: is a chart that uses bars to show the quantity.

  4. Vocabulary Fraction: When an object is divided into number parts then each part is called a fraction ex.1/4 - The Top is called Numerator and the bottom is called Denominator. N items questioned D total, total, total

  5. 13-00 Whole Numbers and Fractions on a Number Line • There are different types of number lines. • Number lines-: • Are used for measurement, comparison of numbers/fractions etc. • Have whole numbers and mixed numbers. • Goes on forever so there is no greatest number.

  6. Topic 13-01:Understanding Number lines Each number on a number line has its own point. Zero is the least whole number on the number line. The numbers increases in value as you move from left to right.

  7. Topic 13-02:Patterns on the Number Line You can identify the pattern on a number line or graph scale, and calculate missing labels. Equal distances show equal differences in the numbers. The scales on some bar graphs are used as number line.

  9. 13-03 Locating Fractions on a Number Line Number line have fractions and mixed number. You can use mixed numbers and fractions to name points on a number line.

  10. 13-04: Comparing Fractions on a Number Line The fraction and the number farther to the right is the greater fraction/number. 1¼ < 1¾

  11. 13-05: Problem Solving-:Missing or Extra Information Mark bought a jacket, a pen and a ball, he spent $20 on a pen and a ball, He started with $60,how much did he have left? You can not solve the problem without the missing information. A pen + a ball= $20 < -------------60------------>
