  4. Problems encountered Services transformation: • e-collection: from physical item to e-item • web base service e.g. FAQ, resource guides, virtual reference service • e-learning • learning commons • automation e.g. self service of check-in and check-out

  5. Problems encountered Services transformation: •  outsource services: • cataloguing and acquisition service • peripheral supporting service e.g. staff training, book binding, book transportation and shelving, security guard, cleaning, and etc • outreach program vs. library orientation

  6. Areas to be enhanced • collaboration with universities and institutes • infrastructure upgrading • Marketing and promotion • Funding raising • E-collection and library collaboration

  9. Library Staff Major Principle • All survived library staff will be retained as far as possible, at least in the first 3years • Staff training and re-deployment will be arranged

  10. Training for Library staff Provide training on: • E-resources • New technical trend for accessing virtual library e.g. Smart phones and tablet computer, social networking, and etc. • Able to apply and keep abreast of IT knowledge on library services
