  2. At the cross there was a divinely ordained exchange. Jesus received the evil due to us, that we might receive the good due to Him

  3. Aspects Of The Exchange • A. Jesus was punished that we might be forgiven (Is. 53:4–5) • B. Jesus was wounded that we might be healed (Matt. 8:16–17) • C. Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness that we might be made righteous with His righteousness (Is. 53:10; 2 Cor. 5:21)

  4. D. Jesus tasted death for us that we might share His life (Heb. 2:9) • E. Jesus was made a curse that we might receive the blessing (Gal. 3:13–14).

  5. Seven indications of a curse on one’s life: 1. Mental and emotional breakdown 2. Repeated or chronic sicknesses (esp. hereditary) 3. Repeated miscarriages or related female problems

  6. 4. Breakdown of marriage—family alienation 5. Continuing financial insufficiency (esp. when income appears to be sufficient) 6. “Accident prone” 7. Suicides or unnatural deaths

  7. F. Jesus endured our poverty that we might share His abundance (2 Cor. 8:9 [2 Cor. 9:8; Deut. 28:47–48]) G. Jesus endured our shame that we might share His glory (Matt. 27:35–36 [Heb. 2:10])

  8. H. Jesus endured our rejection that we might have His acceptance (Matt. 27:45–51 [Eph. 1:3–6])

  9. How To Apply The Blood How To Appropriate Blood Of Jesus: A. We overcome Satan by the blood and the word of our testimony (Rev. 12:11).

  13. HOW DO WE TRANSFER BLOOD FROM THE BASIN TO YOUR LIFE? Sevenfold application of blood of Jesus:

  14. 1. Redemption: being bought backa. We must be in Christ (Eph. 1:7)b. Redeemed by Christ’s blood (1 Pet. 1:18–19) c. Let redeemed say so (Ps. 107:2) Confession:“Through the blood of Jesus, I have been redeemed out of the hand of the devil.”

  15. 2. Cleansinga. Only through continuing walking in the light = continuing fellowship (1 John 1:7) b. Plead for the blood to be applied (Ps. 51:7)  Confession: • “While I walk in the light, the blood of Jesus cleanses me now and continually from all sin.”

  16. 3. Justificationa. To make righteous (Rom. 5:9)b. “Just-as-if-I’d” never sinnedc. Covered with a robe of righteousness (Is. 61:10) Confession:“Through the blood of Jesus, I am justified, acquitted, not guilty, reckoned righteous, made righteous, ‘just-as-if-I’d’ never sinned.”

  17. 4.Sanctification a. Set apart from sin and made holy (Heb. 13:12 [Heb. 12:10]) Confession: • “Through the blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, made holy, set apart to God, separated from sin, made holy with God’s holiness.”
