  4. About Me… --Married 17 years --Daughter, Madeleine, is a fourth grader at Newton Rayzor Elementary --have one dog, Dewey, and one cat, Tupelo --from N.J., but I’ve lived in Texas for 18 years

  6. What we cover in English • Your student has a reading class and an English class. • In English, we cover: • Grammar and Usage • Writing • 1. Personal narrative/short story • 2. How-to paper • 3. Persuasive essay • 4. Compare/contrast essay • 5. Research paper • 6. Poetry

  7. IB UNITS • IB informs my teaching and I seek to be responsive to student interests and concerns. I have three IB UNITS planned so far: • 1. How does knowing the parts of something help you understand the whole? (1st Six Weeks) • 2. What are the qualities of a leader (2nd Six Weeks) • 3. How does my cultural heritage affect who I am? (6th Six Weeks)

  8. Classroom Supplies Needed This Year: Pick up complete school supply list in Mr. Amendola’s Science class tonight. Most important on first day: --6 composition books Bring to all classes, everyday: Pencils Binder agenda handheld sharpener loose leaf paper
