  1. Technology in upcoming century Education -Shyamal Patel AAEE040

  2. Present Schools • Conventional concept of students sitting in straight rows and doing repetitive task under supervision. • Limited excess of the bookish world • Technologies -PCs, new methodologies, well equipped AV rooms and auditoriums , high speed net connections. But still something is LACKING!!!!!!

  3. Challenges for school for future • Biggest challenge is to make students experience the information, knowledge and its application.

  4. How would be future school? • By providing a classroom that would enhance the learning and provide a stimulating experience by allowing students to visualize information

  5. Roll of Teacher of Future School • A great deal of learning would be self-directed where a teacher would act as a guide

  6. Classroom Environment • The room itself would resemble a living room, rather than a classroom, with soft furniture set up for easy conversation, mood lighting with high end virtual reality setups. Thus providing a student friendly environment

  7. Virtual Reality Literacy Center • This elementary interactive learning center provides a gateway for participants to interact with literary pieces via virtual reality concepts. • Integrated into the center is an online/electronic curriculum that facilitates learning through “virtual fieldtrips” into the edu- world. • With sounds accompanying visual cues, the stories come alive with the reader as the main character.

  8. Virtual Learning Environment-1 • PCD (person computing device)is an individual, computerized research station containing wireless, voice-activated laptops,VR and Video equipment, access to the other hardware and software available in (and out) of the room. • It is linked to the facilitator command module. This module enables the learning facilitator to design and incorporate holographic simulations, observe and assist in learner research and development, provide immediate feedback, video-conference,and manage record keeping of learner assessment portfolios.

  9. eLibrary • Library automation software that allows access to cooperative collections from district libraries as well as advanced interlibrary loan connections for students and teachers to borrow books and materials world-wide. • Effortless wireless broadband connections to information networks. • Synchronous teaching facilities across networks for independent study. Multimedia facilities for perusal and production of information resources. Primary source documents widely available in digital formats to support teaching and learning.

  10. E-labs • Major drawback of present labs is unsuitable atmosphere for experimenting leading to high experimental errors. • Future VR labs will give experimental friendly environment.

  11. What wont change?? Playgrounds!!!!

  12. There is not an END of our dream school....
