Background of the SOMY project • Finnishschoolshaveintroduced social media rapidly and widelyduring the pastfewyears • Thesepilotsaresteeredby a national social media coordinationproject for Finnish general education, SOMY • SOMY coordination is fundedby the Finnish National Board of Education (FNBE) and carried out byOtava Folk School and Jyväskylä EducationalConsortium • Part of the SOMY weconduct a predictionreportabout internet and schools in the year 2023

  3. eDelfoi as a method • Our main method is the eDelfoiresearchtool, which is based on the Delphi method • eDelfoiis a multi-purposequestionnaire for gathering a widevariety of opinionsconcerningpossiblefuturepathsrelating to a desiredtheme • The Delphi methoditself is a systematic, interactiveforesightmethodwhichrelies on a panel of anonymous, independentexperts as a form of collectiveintelligence • The main benefit of eDelfoi is thatitproducesprobable and innovativevisions and variouspaths to the futureincludingcollectiveevaluationsregardingthem • The eDelfoitoolwasdevelopedby Otava Folk High School and FutureResearch Center of Turku School of Economics in Finland.
