  11. 2006-2007 HRD Priority Areas • H-1 Utilize collaborative needs assessment process to identify and align professional development activities in support of the State Performance Plan, Strategic Imperatives, Continuous Improvement Model, Evaluation Protocol, K-12 Reform Efforts, Highly Qualified and Just Read Florida

  12. 2006-2007 HRD Priority Areas • H-2 Coordinate and provide multi-level, research-based professional development to include, but not limited to: Just Read Florida Initiatives, SIM (Strategic Instruction Model), Instructional Strategies, Differentiated Instruction, Accommodations/Modifications, Learning Styles, Classroom/Behavior Management, Social Skills, Algebraic Thinking, Quality IEPs, Matrix, ESE Related Issues, Transition, Collaborative Teaching Model, Peer Coaching and Classroom Observation Strategies, Action Research, Professional Study Groups, and other BEESS Initiatives

  13. 2006-2007 HRD Priority Areas • H-3 Provide relevant information, materials and other resources related to professional development and exemplary practices, that support the attainment of state/district goals related to ESE programs and services

  14. 2006-2007 HRD Priority Areas • H-4 Support development and implementation of effective online/distance learning professional development activities to include PDA-ESE, Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum and Elementary K-6 Online Content Review Modules, etc.

So….What Else Is New? • Reading Endorsement Plans • Are you involved? • Do your professional development activities support local plans? • PDA-ESE Persistent Reading Difficulties • Statewide Facilitators’ Training scheduled for May 31st and June 1st (targeted group of participants) • Pilot run June, July, August • Statewide availability early Fall ’06 • Specific criteria for facilitators and implementation • Elementary K-6 Online Content Review • Under Development • Available late Fall ‘06

So….What Else Is Old New/Old? • Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum Online Content Review Module has been used by over 1300! • Digging through the Data Professional Developers Session May 16th & 17th Orlando • Regional HRD FDLRS meetings being scheduled for 2006-07 • Separate HRD and Tech Fall Forums to allow for enhanced professional development • FDLRS HRD Mentoring Pilot Program • Targeted Professional Development • Establishment of FDLRS HRD Steering Committee
