  2. Gym Shoes • You will need a pair of athletic shoes. I recommend mid-price Ascics, New-Balance, Addidas, or Pro-specs. • Also, running shoes are very helpful on the 5k run. You could also run with cross-trainers and play basketball. • Ideally, you would want separate shoes for different activities.

  3. Gym Clothes • When it is hot, you would want a pair of shorts and t-shirt. • When it is cold, sweat pants or hiking pants with a hoodie or long-sleeve shirt is good. • If you have it, clothes like Nike Fit, that takes away moisture is very helpful. Especially if you sweat a lot.

  4. Benefits of Exercise • Lower risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer • Better mental health and sense of well-being • Longer life • Improved Appearance

  5. 3 Things • Aerobic Training – Oxygen, Heart, and Lungs • Flexibility Training - Joints and Mobility • Muscle Strength – Women will not become bulky * You need to cross-train all areas

  9. Next Class • I will try to be at the gym by 8:40. If you come at 8:50 – you may leave 10 minutes early. • After attendance and warm ups – we will go outside on the track and demonstrate the push-up, sit-up, and the 2 mile run. Until 10:10, I will ask you to walk around the track. (Properly)
